VISION

     * Computer vision is the science and technology of machines.
    * Computer vision is concerned with the theory behind artificial systems that extract information from images. The image data can take many forms, such as video sequences, views from multiple cameras, or multi-dimensional data from a medical scanner.
    * Computer vision is closely related to the study of biological vision.
    * Computer vision is, in some ways, the inverse of computer graphics.
    * Physics is another field that is closely related to computer vision.

APPLICATION FOR COMPUTER VISION

   1. One of the most prominent application fields is medical computer vision.
   2. A second application area in computer vision is in industry.
   3. Military applications are probably one of the largest areas for computer vision.

MISSION

The mission of the Department of Computer Science is to prepare undergraduate and graduate students for productive careers in industry, academia, and government by providing an outstanding environment for teaching, learning, and research in the theory and applications of computing.
