About the Department

The Department of Tamil was started during the year 2006. To provide high quality education to develop research facilities and identity innovative course in Teacher Education Guest lecturers and periodical seminars have been conducted.

Mission

•    To proper students to blend theory with practical to think critically and to interact effectively in a technology complex, global society.
•    The following fine cardinal principles of NCF 2005 have been assimilative into teacher education curriculum and in the source books of elementary Teachers Education which are to be introduced in 2008-2009.
•    Connecting knowledge to life outside the school.
•    Ensuring that learning shifts away from rote methods.
•    Enriching the curriculum so that it goes beyond text books.
•    Making examinations more flexible and intergrading them with class room life.
•    Nurturing an overriding identity informed by caring concerns within the democratic policy of the country.
 
ACTIVITIES

•    Students were given work for descriptive skill studying stories and novels and prepare reviews of the tidied books.
•    Asked to students prepare C.D. cassettes cooking simple dialogues
•    Given the practice of collecting composite picture and asking questions booking at the pictures.
•    Seminars were conducted in to classes as selected topics from the source book it self.
•    Students all given practice preparing substitution tables teaching hours, prepositions, words and sentence structure.
